Biography

Luigi Napoleoni was an Italian middleweight boxer who competed during the 1960s. Napoleoni made his in-ring début as an amateur at the 1960 Roma Olympics. He had victories against Moustafa Ben Lahbib and Moussa El-Gelidi before losing to Yevgeny Feofanov in the quarter-finals. Napoleoni turned professional a month after the Olympics, winning his first four fights in Italy, before suffering his first loss when he boxed Harold Simmons at Madison Square Garden in New York. He fought 21 fights as a pro, but only won nine of them, losing his final six bouts before retiring in March 1966.
