Biography

Emile Jurgens’ father was co-owner of a margarine factory and a member of the local council. Emile is said to have been one of the first car owners in his hometown of Oss in 1903. One year later, he was already living in Hamburg, where he became director of the Deutsche Jurgens Werke. In 1912, he was the only shooter from the Netherlands to take part in the Olympic Games. Together with his cousin Frans, Emile Jurgens competed again in trap shooting at the 1920 Olympics.
