Åke Lundeberg won three medals at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm. Individually, he won gold in the running target double shot and silver in the single shot. He was also a member of the Swedish team, winning gold in the running target, single shot. He also came close to a fourth medal, placing fourth in the trap team event. At the 1914 Baltic Games, he won gold in the running target, double shot, and clay pigeon shooting, individually as well as in the team events.
Lundeberg was a captain in the Dalregiment’s reserve and later became a forester. At the time of the Olympics he was stationed at the State Higher Forest School in Kloten. Later, he served in Övertorneå in northern Sweden and spent his final years in Linköping but died in his native Gävle at the age of just 50. He was married to Ella Nilsson, who outlived him by 40 years. Lundeberg also published textbooks on orienteering.
