Biography

Carolyn Koch started shooting skeet at age 11 at the Duncan Gun Club. She began trap shooting in 4-H and with the ATA (American Trap Association) juniors. She made the US National team when she was only 19, and won the 1988 US National title to qualify for the Olympics at age 21. She won two more US titles, but never again qualified for the Olympics, despite attempting to do so through the 2000 Sydney Olympics. By then, Koch had developed rheumatoid arthritis and the medicine she had to take for it was on the WADA banned list so she elected to stop competing internationally.
