Biography

Osvaldo Pensosi was a significant figure within Italian hockey refereeing. His first appointment was in 1957, and during a long career he refereed approximately 1,400 matches. In the 1960s and 70s, Pensosi officiated at the München and Montréal Olympics, and the Barcelona and Amsterdam World Championships. In a total of 71 international matches, he also refereed at Pan American Games and several European Championships. An authoritative figure on the field, he was a source of inspiration to many referees of both his own generation, and those of future generations.
