Mrs. Frances Schroth, from Oakland, California, shared with Ethelda Bleibtrey the distinction of winning three swimming medals at the 1920 Olympics. She was married to George Schroth, also a noted swimmer, who won a bronze medal as a member of the 1924 U.S. water polo team. They were divorced, however, not long after the Paris Olympics.
