Biography

Shaban Khalifa was a staple of Al-Ahly’s volleyball squad in the first half of the 1980s. During that time, he won six consecutive Egyptian Volleyball League titles with the team, from 1980 through 1985, as well as the Egyptian Cup in 1982. Internationally, he was with Al-Ahly when they won the African Club Championship in 1980 and 1983 and also represented Egypt in the tournament at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. There, his country placed 10th and last overall. Nearer to the end of his career, he played and worked in the United Arab Emirates briefly, before returning to Al-Ahly.
