Biography

Lidia Gorlin began her basketball career with Associazione Sportiva Vicenza where she won the 1970 Italian U-18 title. As a senior and in the First League she was still with Vicenza, then Standa Milano and FIAT Torino and in total she won 10 Italian titles (8 with Vicenza, 2 with Torino) and six European Cups, five with Vicenza and one with Torino.

For 10 years Gorlin was captain of the Italian team. She débuted in Sarajevo on 17 December 1971 in a friendly against Bulgaria. She earned 231 caps from 1971-86 including a bronze medal at the 1974 European Championships and competing at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. After retirement she lived in Lucca where she was general manager of Le Mira Lucca in the First League, leading them to the 2017 Italian title.
