Biography

John O’Brien played Olympic water polo for Australia at the 1956 and 1960 Olympics. He was on the Victorian state team from 1953-70, captaining the team from 1959-68 and serving as player-coach from 1967-70. He coached the Richmond Water Polo Club for almost 20 years and was made a life member of the Victorian Water Polo Association. In 2010 he was inducted into the Water Polo Australia Hall of Fame.
