Biography

Peter Hardie played in goal for the Otter water polo team. He joined the club in 1946, and became a life member in 1958. Sadly, just two years later, Hardie died in an accident. Living in Derby at the time, he worked for a Nottinghamshire bakery, and was on business in the Swansea area. In the early hours of 5 May 1960, Hardie and two colleagues were walking across cliffs at nearby Caswell Bay, when Hardie slipped 40-feet (12.10 m) to his death. He was just 39 at the time, and left a widow and four children, all under the age of 10.
