Biography

Paul Klingenburg was a German water polo goalkeeper from Duisburger SV 98 and was a member of the German silver medal-winning team, behind Hungary, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was a runner-up again with the German team at the 1938 European Championship, again behind Hungary. From 1939-41 Klingenburg won the German Championship with his home club Duisburg. After World War II he moved to Rüdesheim-Assmannshausen in 1949 where he took over the Hotel Rheingold Terrassen and renamed it Unter den Linden, running it with his wife Hedwig and her family, from whom he took over the business.
