Biography

Achim Schneider was a member of the West German water polo team that finished sixth at both the 1956 Melbourne and the 1960 Rome Olympics. Domestically he played for DSV 98 Duisburg. In 1958, 1961 and 1962 Schneider helped Duisburg to win the West German Championships. He later moved to 1. FC Nürnberg. His father Hans participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics also as a water polo player. Achim later coached water polo teams in Gelnhausen.
