Biography

Josef Zemann was an Austrian weightlifter who participated in the 1928 Amsterdam and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. At Amsterdam he finished tied seventh in the light-heavyweight class and in Berlin was sixth in the heavyweight class. At both the 1930 and 1934 European Championships he won a bronze medal in the light-heavyweight class, and in 1935 he finished fifth. In 1930, Zemann won his only Austrian national title.
