Biography

Having won the Yorkshire featherweight and lightweight titles, Fred Marsh was also a Northern Counties champion. At the 1936 Olympics, however, he contested the featherweight class and finished 19th out of 21, with a best finish of 17th in the clean and jerk. The holder of many British records, he took part in exhibitions, demonstrations, and challenge contests after the Berlin Games.
