Biography

Alfred Kornprobst was a West German weightlifter who finished eighth as a lightweight at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. From 1962-64 he was West German lightweight champion, winning in 1965 and 1967 as a middleweight. He competed in four Europeans and Worlds, but with limited success. Kornprobst retired from competition in 1972 and died in 1991 after a long illness, at the age of 51.
