Biography

Andrea Borgnis was an Italian weightlifter who competed for Vigili del Fuoco Milano, with whom he won four Italian titles as a middle-heavyweight. He made his national team début on 4 February 1956 in the match against Finland. At the 1956 European Championships in Helsinki Borgnis placed fifth with a total of 385 kg. At the 1957 Worlds in Tehran he was sixth, repeating that finish in 1958 at Stockholm with 407.5 kg. At the Roma Olympics he was 11th overall. Borgnis earned a total of 10 international caps.
