Biography

David Langon began weightlifting in junior high school and was US Junior Champion at 90 kg in 1985, 1986, and 1987. He was named Pacific Coast Association Teen Weightlifter of the Year in 1985 and the Junior Nationals Outstanding Lifter in 1987. Langon finished second at the 1988 US Nationals, and then won that title in 1990 and 1991 at 110 kg. In addition to competing at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Langon competed at the 1987 and 1991 Pan American Games and the 1990 Universiade. Langon was inducted into the Castro Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He owned his own construction firm, David Langon Construction, Inc.
