Biography

Wally Paterson wrestled middleweight, Greco-Roman at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, losing two matches by falls. Paterson attended Parramatta State School and started his business career as an apprentice with Gilmore & Cadlolo, an engineering firm. He later worked with the Cairns Regional Electricity Board but then left to work with Railway Workshops in Cairns, where he started wrestling. He eventually made his living as an engineer.
