Biography

Light-heavyweight wrestler Günter Kowalewski withdrew from the third round of the Greco-Roman event at the 1972 München home Olympics Games due to an injury. He won five West German Greco-Roman titles in 1966-67, 1970 and 1973-74. He was the national freestyle champion in 1973. Kowalewski was born in Dortmund-Marten and later owned a pub in Witten-Annen.
