Biography

József Stemmer won the 1912 Hungarian title in lightweight (60 kg). In the same year, he took part in the Stockholm Olympics under his sporting pseudonym Sándor, where he was eliminated in the third round after a win and two defeats. In 1914, he was suspended for a year for breaching the judges and the federal representatives. Although he was later forgiven, he never started again in a major tournament.
