Biography

For Mario Gruppioni the bronze medal at the 1932 Olympic Games was the highlight of his career. His only other international medal was a bronze at the 1925 European Championship in Greco-Roman. During the 1932 Olympics he was already suffering from a form of arthritis in his legs, and he died only six years after the Los Angeles Games.
