Biography

Ragnar Fogelmark competed in Greco-Roman wrestling for Djurgårdens IF at the 1912 Olympics in the middleweight B division. He was eliminated after losing his first two bouts by fall. One year later he placed 3rd in his class at the Swedish Championships. He was also a good athlete in jumping and throwing competitions.

Fogelmark worked as a butcher and lived in Stockholm from 1910-14 before returning to Karlstad. He suffered from pneumonia and died just two years after the Stockholm Olympics. His official death document gives pneumonia also as the cause of death. The Swedish Olympic Committee, however, states that he committed suicide.
