Biography

Alrik Sandberg began serious training rather later when he joined Djurgården IF. As a heavyweight, he relied particularly on his physical strength, but his technical skills also improved with time. He never excelled at national championships. At the 1912 Olympics, he competed in the Greco-Roman heavyweight division. In round 1, he was shouldered by Finland’s Adolf Lindfors after 8:30 minutes and was eliminated after losing to Uuno Pelander, another Finn, by decision.
