Biography

Kent Townley wrestled for Iowa State University, graduating in 1956. He also served in the US Navy during the Korean War, 1950-54. Townley won the Big Seven conference title in 1955 and was the captain of the Iowa State team in 1956. Townley later became a wrestling coach, first in high school in Iowa, and then in Indianapolis. He also worked as a district manager for various companies, finally with Con-Agra and then G&C Fertilizer in Georgia. He continued to coach in Georgia, and the Kent Townley Little Bulldog Brawl is a youth wrestling tournament held each year in Georgia in his honor.
