Biography

In the 1960s and 1970s Swiss sailor Rolf Amrein had a successful partnership with compatriot Edwin Bernet, with the pair winning multiple titles in the Star class. Amrein and Bernet both represented the Yacht Club Zug, becoming Swiss champions on five occasions (1965–66, 1968, 1971–72). One year prior to their first Swiss title they also won bronze at the 1964 European Championships. The pair represented Switzerland at the Olympics in Mexico City and München, where they finished 8th and 14th, respectively.
