Biography

Like all the crew members aboard Thomas Glen-CoatsHera in the 12-metre class at the 1908 Olympics, John Buchanan was a member of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club. He was a farmer, and an enthusiastic sailor for many years. At the 1936 Tarbert Cups regatta on the west coast of Scotland, Buchanan’s 8-metre boat, Falcon won the Wylie Cup.
