Biography

Carl-Oscar Girsén was a businessman in Helsinki as manager of the Ab Roneo Oy office supplies store. He graduated from school in 1906 and then entered university. Later he married Märta Olivia (née Monthan). He was a crew member of the Finnish yacht “Örn”. Although the boat placed third in both races of the 8 metres class at the Stockholm Olympics they missed the bronze medal race ranking fourth on accumulated points. Girsén died from a heart attack, only 41 years old.
