Biography

Jonas Jonsson was an engineer. As a representative of Langborg’s Shipyard he was a founding member of the Association of Yacht Shipyard Owners. Jonsson competed in sailing at two Olympic Games, both times in the 6-metre class. In 1908, he placed fifth as a crew member of the Freja, placing last in all three races. Four years later, he sailed aboard the Sass. In 1912, after places three and four in the two races, the yacht narrowly lost the match-race for bronze against the second Swedish boat Kerstin.
