Biography

Olof Mark was a wholesaler living in Stockholm. In 1905 he married Annie Sofie Olsen, the daughter of a shipowner in Oslo. Although the couple got a daughter one year later, they soon got divorced. In 1913, Mark married his second wife, Signe Maria Charlotta, (née Halling) in Stockholm.

At the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm, Mark was the helmsman of the Sass in the 6-metre class. After places three and four in the two races, the yacht narrowly lost the match-race for bronze against the second Swedish boat Kerstin. The owner of the Sass was Gustaf Theodor Cedergren (1879-1919), an engineer and chairman of a telephone company.
