Biography

Ray Land was an Australian track and field athlete who specialised as a sprinter. Land first represented Western Suburbs in Sydney before joining Northern Suburbs in 1957. A year earlier he competed for Australia at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals of the 100 metres and the semi-finals of the 4 × 100 metres relay. Land later worked as a coach at Northern Suburbs, before serving as their treasurer (1961–71) and as their President (1989–93).
