Biography

Walter Pektor was a nine-time Austrian champion in the javelin throw (1964-1968, 1971, and 1974-1976), and came in 10th at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. His father Erwin was also a javelin thrower in the 1930s and 1940s and was German Champion in 1942 after the “Anschluss” of Austria to the German Reich. Walter improved his father’s 22-year-old Austrian record (70.68) in 1964, recording 71.31.

Personal Best: JT – 82.16 (1968).
