Middle-distance runner Fritz Prossinagg was Austrian champion in the 1,500 metres (1952-53) and 3×1,000 relay (1951, 1953). He was elected for the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Prossinagg competed in the 1,500 metres but failed to reach the semi-finals. Domestically, he represented Wiener (Vienna) AC.
