Race walker Hans Siegele was the Austrian 10 km and 20 km track walk champion in 1978, and 50 km champion in 1980 and 1985-86. His brother Wilfried was Austrian 20 km walk champion in 1979-80 and 50 km walk champion 1981-84. The siblings both participated in the 1980 Moskva (Moscow) Olympics. Hans came 22nd over 20 km while Wilfried did not finish the course. Hans Siegele also competed as a biathlete in winter sports and participated in the 1975 Biathlon World Championships.
