Athlete Teddy Steinmayr was Austrian long jump champion seven times (1986, 1989-1993, 1995). He qualified for the 1988 Seoul Summer Olympics, but failed to reach the final. Steinmayr also participated at the 1986 European Championships, and the 1988 and 1990 European Indoors, but with little success.
By profession, Steinmayr worked on his father’s farm growing sugar beets, grain, corn, and soya. He subsequently ran the farm with his family, primarily his wife Ingrid. They had no outside employees, but used sophisticated technology, optimised by their son Klaus, who was responsible for GPS steering systems at a tractor company. Their daughter Stephanie won the Miss Upper Austria title in 2012.
