Biography

André Dehertoghe was a middle-distance runner who trained with Belgian running idols, Gaston Roelants and Miel Puttemans. Despite their presence Dehertoghe won Belgian titles in the 800 metres in 1966 and the 1,500 metres in 1967 and 1969-71. He competed at the 1969 European Championships and the 1968 Olympics. Dehertoghe was married to Annie Lambrechts, who won 19 world titles in roller skating between 1964-81 and was named Belgian Sportswoman of the Year in 1981.

Personal Best: 1500 – 3:37.1 (1968).
