Jacques Delelienne

Jacques Delelienne first gained attention for his athletic prowess in 1948, when he set an unofficial Belgian record in the high jump. He made his international début at the 1950 European Championships, where he placed seventh in the high jump. After setting a personal best of 1.93 metres in 1951, which was a national record at the time, his next stop was the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. There he could not quite reach this mark and placed joint-ninth alongside Josiah Majekodunmi of Nigeria. His final major international competition was the 1953 World Student Games, where he took home gold in the high jump.
