Biography

José Luís played basketball for Spain at the 1960 Roma Olympics. He started in basketball at Círcol Catòlic and later played for Orillo Verde (1956-58), Real Madrid (1958-62) and Joventut (1962-69). Luis won two silver medals at the 1959 and 1963 Mediterranean Games. During his career he was capped 118 times.

Luis went into coaching, working with Círcol Catòlic, Joventut, RCD Espanyol and the Spanish women’s and university teams. He was a long-time assistant on the Spanish national team under Antonio Díaz-Miguel. Luis later worked in administration with the Federació Catalana de Basquetbol (FCBq) and the Spanish Basketball Coaches Association (AEEB).
