Biography

Golekane Mosweu was a Batswana distance runner who competed in the 10K at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Mosweu was a laborer in the platinum mines of South Africa from 1966-71 and later moved to Gauten to work at the Kloof Mine. While there he was noticed for his fitness and was drafted to the Botswanan athletics team, leading Mosweu to start competing in races in South Africa and Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). He competed at the Commonwealth Games in 1974 and 1986. Mosweu later returned to the mines, working there until 1998.

Personal Best: 10000 – 28:41.4 (1975).
