Biography

Danish racewalker Vilhelm Gylche won six Danish Championships and set 11 national records in distances from 3 to 75 kilometres. Gylche’s national titles came in the one-mile walk (1910–11), the 10 km walk (1911, 1913), and the 40 km walk (1910–11). He competed in the 10 km walk at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics where he qualified in fourth-place in his heat but did not finish in the final. Two years later Gylche won the 10 km walk at the 1914 Baltic Games.

Personal Best: 10kmW – 47:09.4 (1915).
