Biography

Julius Jørgensen was a Danish distance runner who represented AIK 95. Jørgensen won multiple medals at the Danish Championships in the one-mile race including gold in 1903, silver in 1904, and bronze in 1906. He also won the 15km cross-country race in 1905 known as the “Kongepokalen” or the King’s Cup. In 1903 and 1904 Jørgensen won the famous Fortunløbet cross-country race.

At the 1908 London Olympics Jørgensen competed in the five-mile race but was eliminated in his heat. He also ran in the marathon in London where he finished in 23rd place.
