Biography

Takao Nakae attended the Tokyo Imperial University while he was a member of the Japanese basketball team at the 1934 Far Eastern Games and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. After graduation he worked for the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and married a daughter of the famous Japanese novelist Naoya Shiga. Later Nakae became a manager of the Nakae Sangyo Co., a forestry company that had been established by his grandfather in Osaka, and moved to nearby Kansai with his family.
