Biography

Johan Pettersson was a Finnish track and field athlete who specialised in weight throwing disciplines. Pettersson won three national titles in the shot put (1912–13, 1920), and three consecutive titles in the weight throw from 1915 to 1917. In 1912 he set a Finnish record in the shot put that stood until 1914. Pettersson competed in the 56-pound weight throw event at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics where he finished in sixth place. He also participated in the hammer throw in Antwerpen, finishing in 11th.
