Biography

Finnish track and field athlete Pauli Sandström represented Turun Riento in Turku where he specialised in the long jump. In 1923 Sandström won bronze in the event at the national championships, with him going one better the following year. The start of his dominance in the discipline at the Finnish championships came in 1925, when he won his first of three consecutive titles. Sandström also competed at the 1924 Paris Olympics where he finished tenth with a best jump of 6.830 metres.
