Biography

Mike Pelliccia was the first non-Italian native to play for the Italian National team in basketball. He played for Pallacanestro Napoli, G.U.F. (Gruppi Universitari Fascisti) Roma and S.S. Lazio He competed at the Berlin Olympics where the Azzurri placed seventh. He also competed at the 1937 and 1939 European Championships, placing second and sixth, respectively. Pelliccia earned 15 caps, scoring 24 points.
