Biography

Having never previously run further than 14 miles, Bobby Mills entered his first marathon in 1920, making a startling début by winning the Poly race with a new UK record of 2-37:40.4. He also won the Poly race in 1921-22, but he never again bettered that time. He was also a fine cross-country runner, representing England three times in the International Championship (1920-21, 1923) and placing second in 1921.
