Biography
Hans-Jürgen Jacobi finished sixth in the shot put at the 1980 Moskva Olympic Games. In 1968 Jacobi was European Youth Champion in the discus throw. Domestically he won the East German indoor title in 1982 in the shot put and had several runner-ups in the discus and the shot put. Jacobi was educated as a toolmaker.
