Biography

Race walker Dietmar Meisch was disqualified in the 50 km at the 1980 Moscow Olympics and finished ninth eight years later in Seoul. He was also disqualified at the 1983 and 1987 World Championships, and the 1982 European Championships. In 1986 Meisch came in sixth. In East Germany he won 50 km titles in 1986 and 1987, and had six other podium finishes.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 3-43:14 (1987).
