Biography

Gerald Weiß was an East German javelin thrower who finished sixth at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. At the 1986 Europeans he came in 11th and at the 1987 European Cup he was fifth. In 1981 he claimed his sole East German title. Weiß was a trained car mechanic. After German reunification his name was found in the documents concerning systematic doping abuse in the former GDR. By profession, Weiß was a post office employee and was responsible for a regional parcel delivery service in Schwerin.
