Biography

High jumper Inge Kilian finished a disappointing last (18th) in the 1956 Melbourne final, although she had bettered the German record a few months earlier. Two years later she placed fourth at the European Championships. She won four German titles in 1955-58, winning indoors in 1956 and 1959. An educated draftswoman, she retired in 1959 due to health reasons, married and in 1990 became a committee member of the Association of Former Track and Field Athletes.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.68 (1958).
