Biography

High jumper Birgit Kähler finished 11th at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. The dark-haired Rhinelander was not one of those athletes whose only goal in life was great sporting achievements. Her “favorite hobby” was not athletics, but horse riding. She found happiness aboard her horses, calling high jumping her “second favorite hobby.” Kähler took part in the 1992 World Cup (4th) and the European Indoors the same year (5th), but was never able to win a German Championship.

Personal Best: HJ – 1.94 (1991).
